GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Men's Lacrosse team crushed Seton Hill in the GMAC Final to claim the title of GMAC Tournament Champions.
The final score was 11-9, bringing the Lakers their third championship win in four years.
Quarter One
It took some time to get on the board but Myles Hamm was the first to capitalize. The time on the clock was 6:57.
The Griffins headed to the box, which allowed Colin Schmatz to score goal number two.
Schmatz then passed the ball to David Fiorini to score the third goal at 5:25.
With Brett Olney making five saves, the team went into the second with a score of 3-0.
Quarter Two
Nicholas Mabe sent the ball to Ethan Landymore. He scored the fourth at 14:29.
The Griffins finally landed on the board at 8:38.
Colin Tardif was getting into the game and scored his first at 5:14.
The Griffins struck again at 4:18 and 2:38. The score was now 5-3.
Shawn Doran won four of the five faceoffs and the team earned nine ground balls.
Quarter Three
Schmatz was having a game as he assisted Landymore on a goal at 10:42.
Colin Tardif brought the score to 7-3 at 10:28. This was his second of the game.
SHU scored back-to-back at 9:10 and 8:14.
Mabe earned his second point of the game at 4:50.
Tardif was on fire as he scored two more within the last three minutes of the quarter.
Doran kept up his consistency and won 6-7 faceoffs. The team was also perfect on their clears.
The score going into the final was 10-5.
Quarter Four
The Griffins opened up the quarter with two at 13:30 and 10:05.
Antonio Rossetti followed with his first goal, second point, at 7:37.
SHU finished out the game with two more goals at 5:22 and 2:40.
Olney made four more saves, and the team was perfect on their clears.
