#2/4 Men's Lacrosse Dominates in 26-7 Win Over Senators

ERIE, Pa. - Men's Lacrosse faced Davis & Elkins in a GMAC matchup this afternoon, Apr. 7, 2023. 

The Lakers defeated the Senators 26-7. 

Quarter One

The Senators earned the first two goals of the game at 14:14 and 13:01.

Evan Anstead put the Lakers on the board at 11:43. He was assisted by Colin Tardif.

The Senators earned two more at 10:39 and 4:41. 

Ethan Landymore earned the Lakers' second at 3:29. 

Casey Scott followed with the third goal at 2:46 to bring the score to 3-4. Moments later, Colin Tardif passed the ball to Colin Schmatz to net the goal at 2:02.

The team had 22 shots and won eight out of nine faceoffs. 

Quarter Two

Starting the quarter, Shawn Doran won the faceoff and gave the ball to Tardif. He passed the ball to Landymore which allowed the Lakers to take the lead, 5-4. 

Not even a minute later, Myles Hamm placed the goal in the net at 14:10. Tardif picked up the apple. 

The Lakers were going on a run with Chase Petschke netting his first at 13:10. Hamm quickly followed with another goal at 13:03. The score was now 9-4. 

The Senators capitalized on a goal at 10:59. 

Hamm earned his hat trick at 8:54, assisted by Nicholas Mabe. He then scored two more at 8:20 and 7:11. 

Landymore planted his fourth goal of the game at 2:54 and followed with his fifth at 1:07. 

Jérémi Phoenix-Lefebvre earned his first goal of the season to close out the half. Hamm notched his eighth point of the game on the assist. The score was 15-5.

Doran was 11-1 on the faceoffs this quarter and the team picked up 15 ground balls.

Quarter Three

At 13:50 Mabe earned his first goal, his second of the point game.

The Lakers went on a streak of scoring, boosting the score to 21-5. 

Jack Murphy found his first goal of this season at 6:22 on a man-up opportunity. 

The team closed out the period with 12 ground balls, eight faceoff wins, and 22 shots. 

Quarter Four

Matt Mosjej earned his third of the season, first of the game, at 14:23.

The Senators tried to lessen the deficit with goals at 9:03 and 4:48. The score was now 7-25.

Mason Blakeman earned his second of the season at 3:00 to wrap-up the scoring. Schmatz assisted on the Man-Up.

The team closed out the game with a score of 26-7.

Myles Hamm tallied eight points.

Tyler Mortizen made six saves.

Colin Tardif had five assists.
