Erie Rivalry Continues as Women's Lacrosse Faces Gannon

ERIE, Pa. - Women's Lacrosse is coming off a huge win against Slippery Rock as they continue PSAC play. The team is set to face cross-town rival Gannon, on Apr. 5, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.

The team hosted their Senior Day and Morgan's Message game against Slippery Rock. Meghan Nasman led the team with a career-high five goals, which allowed the Lakers to claim the 13-10 win.

Analyzing Gannon

Two miles separate the Erie schools, Mercyhurst and Gannon. Their ongoing rivalry has only gotten more intense over the years. 

The Golden Knights are 2-8 on the season, with their wins coming against PSAC opponents Lock Haven and Edinboro. 

McKenna Woodworth and Caroline Stevens lead Gannon in points with 25 each. The Golden Knights also have a collective .431 shot percentage, .525 free position percentage, and .372 save percentage.

The Lakers are currently on a 10-game win streak against Gannon, with their most recent coming in 2022.
