Powerful Second Half Not Enough for Women's Lacrosse

GREENSBURG, Pa. - Women's Lacrosse faced Seton Hill on the road today, Apr. 22, 2023.

The Griffins took the match, 11-15

Quarter One

The Griffins were the only ones to score in the first bringing the score to 0-5.

The Lakers were 7-7 on their clears and recovered five ground balls.

Quarter Two

The Griffins scored three more, but at 10:58 Gabby McGinn put the Lakers on the board.

Less than a minute later, Maggie Newton placed another goal in. The free position was scored at 10:06.

Whitley Easton scored the third-straight goal for the team to boast the score to 3-8 at 5:48.

The Griffins scored again at 4:08, but two minutes later Newton earned another. 

Seton Hill bumped the score to 4-10 going into the half. 

The team won four draw controls and AJ Jameson made a big save. 

Quarter Three

Not even a minute into the quarter, the Griffins scored but so did Meghan Nasman. The time on the clock was 14:16.

Ellie Shau took a pass from Newton to bring the score to 6-11 at 9:16.

Seton Hill scored twice more to wrap-up the quarter with a score of 6-14. 

The Lakers had four shots on goal and won two draw controls.

Quarter Four

Newton remained hot and earned two goals at 11:04 and 9:24.

Scoring the team's third-straight goal was Victoria Gottorff at 6:20. The score was now 9-14.

Seton Hill scored their final goal of the game at 4:25. 

Nasman earned another at 3:30 and Milliard finished the game with a goal at 00:52.

The team was 100% on their clears and Jameson made 5 saves.

Highlights

Maggie Newton put five in the net. 

Mackenzie Murphy picked up four ground balls. 

Amanda Bailey caused three turnovers.

On the Horizon

The Lakers will return to Erie to face Gannon on their stomping grounds. The game is set for Apr. 26, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.
