Women's Lacrosse Breezes Past Edinboro

ERIE, Pa. - The Women's Lacrosse team hosted Edinboro today. Apr. 18, 2023.

The team dominated, boasting a score of 20-3.

Quarter One

Not even a minute into the game, Whitley Easton netted the first of the game on a free-position.

Within two more minutes, Whitley Easton and Gabby McGinn found themselves on the board. 

At 11:33 Mackenzie Murphy scored her first of the season. She was assisted by McGinn. 

Amanda Bailey landed on the board followed by McGinn completing her hat trick 10:12.

Meghan Nasman, Maggie Newton, and Marlee Antinora also scored to bring the game to a score of 11-0. 

Alex Finoccario placed her first goal of the season in the net at 1:40.

Megan Millard passed the ball to Paige Drazek at 00:31 to close out the quarter.

The score was 13-0 going into the second. The team was 100% on their clears and won eight ground controls.

Quarter Two

Brenna Smith opened up the scoring in the second with a goal at 13:26.

Mackenzie Murphy picked up her second of both the season and game at 11:37.

Megan Millard scored the third of the quarter at 9:50.

The score was 16-0 at the half. The team went 7-7 on their clears and recovered six ground balls.

Quarter Three

Edinboro finally got on the board at 11:48. 

Ellie Schau followed with a free-position goal at 3:42.

The end of quarter score was 17-1. The Lakers were once again perfect on their clears and had six ground balls.

Quarter Four

The Fighting Scots scored first again.

Sarah Kaska retaliated and boosted the score 18-2.

The Fighting Scots found another at 7:19. 

Nicole Hetzer and Emma Cimino closed out the game, netting their first goals of the season at 2:52 and 1:26.

Highlights

Gabby McGinn climbed to eight points. 

Kiana Francis had five ground balls.

Gabby McGinn earned a hat trick.

On the Horizon

The team will hit the road to face Seton Hill on Apr. 22, 2023.
