Women's Lacrosse Earns Snowy Win at Edinboro

ERIE, Pa. - The Women's Lacrosse team hit the road to face Edinboro.

The team dominated, posting a 14-1 win.

Quarter One

It wasn't even a minute into the game, and Rachel Plumley netted the first of the game at 14:37.

One draw control later, and Tori Gottoroff sent the ball in for a goal. Plumley picked up another point on the assist. 

Marlee Antinora, Paige Drazek, Maggie Newton, Ellie Schau, and Meghan Nasman all added goals to bring the score to 8-0. 

The Lakers capitalized on 80% of their shots on goal, two of them coming from free positions. 

Quarter Two

Beca McGwin also found a way to run it back less than a minute into the quarter to earn the Lakers' ninth goal at 14:21. 

Minutes Later Schau earned her second of the game while Plumley earned her third point at 11:59. 

Plumley closed out the quarter with a last-second goal at 00:25. The score was now 13-0 going into the half. 

The team was 100% on their clears and caused four turnovers. 

Quarter Three

Edinboro was able to capitalize on their first goal at 8:34, but Maggie Sheehan retaliated at 3:34 to score the final goal of the game and her first of the season.

With the weather getting crazier, the team was able to pick up two ground balls and go 3-3 on their clears.

Quarter Four

The quarter began but was quickly called off at 12:26 due to weather. 

Highlights

Rachel Plumley earned four points. 

Beca McGwin caused three turnovers and recovered four ground balls. 

The team was 91.7% on their clears. 

On the Horizon

The team will come back to Saxon to host their Senior Day Celebration and Morgan's Message game on Saturday, Apr. 1, 2023. The clock will start at 3:00 p.m.
