Bailey Nets Four Goals Against Lock Haven

ERIE, Pa - The Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Lock Haven to compete in their first PSAC match of the season.

Quarter One

The team started off the game strong. The Lakers recovered seven ground balls to take back and score three times. Marlee Antinora netted her first of the season, which happened to be man-down.

The team was also 3-3 on their clears in the quarter. 

Quarter Two

Amanda Bailey struck first for the team in the quarter with a free-position goal. 

Gabby McGinn followed with another free-position goal to tie the game up at six.

 Wrapping up the quarter, Whitley Easton took one more free-position shot and claimed a goal at 00:01. The Lakers were now leading, 7-6. 

The team was 3-3 on their free-position attempts and recovered seven ground balls. AJ Jameson saved six shots on goal.

Quarter Three

Bailey scored her second of the game this quarter, the only one for the Lakers. 

Jameson saved two more shots and the Lakers won four draw controls. 

Lock Haven was leading 8-10 going into the fourth.

Quarter Four

Bailey netted her hat trick at 11:53, and followed with her fourth at 11:19.

Antinora earned her second of both the season and the game to tie it up at 11. Maggie Newton followed with a man-up free position goal. 

The team earned four ground balls and five ground controls this quarter. They were also 3-3 on their clears.

Although the team was strong, the Lakers fell 12-13.

Highlights

Amanda Bailey had four points.

Mackenzie Murphy claimed four ground balls. 

Gabby McGinn, Allison Lyon, and Murphy caused two turnovers each.

On the Horizon

The Lakers will stay on the road to face another team of Lakers. The game is set for Mar. 19, 2023 at Noon on the campus of Grand Valley State.
