Bowling Claims Griffen Baker Classic Title

New Castle, De – Mercyhurst Women's Bowling takes home the Griffen Baker Classic trophy as they dominate the second day of competition, defeating Delaware State in the championship match, 4-0.

After a successful day one of the tournament, the Lakers returned to the bowling alley for another busy day. This time the Mercyhurst squad was unstoppable as they defeated St. Anselm, St. Thomas Aquinas, Delaware State, and FDU in their baker matches.

The Lakers qualified for the championship bout, where they once again secured a win against Delaware State. They recorded a great start, as they won the first game 246-211 and swept their opponents in just four games.

The team's success reflects their dedication and commitment to the sport, and they'll undoubtedly continue to make their mark in the world of women's bowling.

Mercyhurst is scheduled to return to New Castle, De. to participate in the Wildcat DII-DIII Invitational starting on Friday, February 17th. The week after that they are set to compete in the Medaille Brunswick Classic in Buffalo, N.Y.
