Erie, Pa. — Mercyhurst is primed for a series against Army, hosting them for a two game series this weekend. This will be the last time the Lakers play at home until the new year and last game until after the Christmas break.
Matchup History
The teams first met in the 2000/01 campaign, Mercyhurst's second season in Division I. The Lakers hold a 44-22-7 record against the Black Knights all-time. When the two teams met last season, they split both series they saw each other in. Overall, Mercyhurst outscored them 15-12 over four games with their last victory coming at West Point in a large 7-3 victory. This series in Erie will be the only time the two sides will see each other this season.

A Look at the Black Knights
Head coach Brian Reilly added 11 new faces to their squad this year, all being incoming freshmen. Among the freshman class is forward Brent Kiefer, who leads the team in scoring with 7 goals. Michael Sacco leads the team in assists with 9 and Joey Baez leads in total points with 11 (6G 5A), both are in their junior year. Goalie Evan Szary leads in saves and save percentage at 305 and .905 overall. Army received two awards so far this season Baez earned POTW with a 3 goal weekend against Canisius and Jake Hewitt won ROTW for 3 goals and 2 assists over 3 games, both came in November.
