Erie, Pa. - The Mercyhurst Men's Soccer team concluded their regular season with a matchup against Cal (Pa.). Three second half goals pushed the Lakers past the Vulcans. The Lakers completed their regular season with a record of 14-2-1 overall and 7-2-1 in the PSAC.
How it Happened
The Lakers looked to take an early lead, but Dylan Sumner's shot missed wide. A few minutes later, Jonathan Chase put a shot on the net but a nice save by the goaltender kept the match tied. The Lakers and Vulcans were tied at zero at the half.
Early in the second half the Lakers took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Frank Lovett. Dylan Sumner ripped a shot that deflected off Riley Kutschbach, it bounced right to Lovett who buried it in the back of the net. With 20 minutes left of play, the Lakers extended their lead. Riley Kutschbach went around the goaltender and buried his shot in the back of the net to give the Lakers a 2-0 lead. Late in the game, Dylan Sumner added a goal of his own to extend the Laker lead to 3-0 and put the game away.

The PSAC tournament starts on Monday and the Lakers will host a home match in the quarterfinal. The match is set for 6 PM and the opponent is TBD.
