Box Score Erie, Pa. - The Mercyhurst Men's Soccer team played host to Seton Hill in the PSAC tournament quarterfinals. Seton Hill scored in the 56th minute to come away with an upset win over the Lakers 1-0.
How it Happened
An early free kick by Dylan Sumner led to a scoring opportunity for the Lakers. The Lakers couldn't convert, and the game stayed tied. The Lakers kept applying pressure in the first half as Guilherme de Lima Cunha and Lockie Fay each took a shot at the net but couldn't get the shot to go. Dylan Sumner was awarded a free kick just outside the box, Sumner took a shot at the net but missed wide right. After 45 minutes of play, the game was tied at zero.
Dylan Sumner was awarded a free kick early in the second half, his shot on net was high of the goal and the game remained tied at zero. A few minutes later, Seton Hill was awarded a free kick. Seton Hill was able to get on the board first as the free kick was placed right in front of the net for a header goal. In the 69th minute, Dylan Sumner took another free kick and took a shot at the top right corner off the net, but a save by the goaltender kept the Lakers off the board. In the 76th minute, Julius Becker took his turn to take a shot at the net. Becker missed just left of the goal. A few minutes later, Sumner took another shot from just outside the box and the Seton Hill goaltender made a tremendous save to keep it out of the net. The Lakers couldn't get that tying goal and Seton Hill came away with an upset win over the Lakers 1-0 and advance to the PSAC semifinals to face Millersville.

The Lakers will now await their fate for the NCAA tournament in the Atlantic Region Selection show. The selection show is scheduled for Monday, November 13th at 7 PM.
