California, Pa. - The Mercyhurst Men's Soccer team looked to extend their winning streak as they traveled to Cal (Pa.) for a PSAC matchup. The Lakers were able to blank Cal (Pa.) in a 2-0 win.  

How it Happened 

The Lakers got off to an early start in this matchup as Ignacio Gallego got the Lakers on the board just eight minutes into the game. Frank Lovett added an assist on the goal. The rest of the first half saw back-and-forth from both sides. At halftime the Lakers led Cal (Pa.) by a score of 1-0.  

The beginning of the second half was slow on both sides. Just before the 65th minute of play Ignacio Gallego stuck again as he netted his second goal of the game and his fifth of the season. Dylan Sumner added an assist on Gallegos' second goal. The Lakers had a number of opportunities to add on later in the second half but couldn't convert any. The Lakers were able to walk away with a 2-0 win over Cal (Pa.)  

Highlights 

Ignacio Gallego scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season. Gallego also had his first multi-goal game of the season.  

Frank Lovett tallied his seventh assist of the season and now has three assists in the last two games.  

Dylan Sumner tallied assist number three, which ties him for second on the team.

The Lakers will look to avenge their only loss of the year as they host Gannon on Wednesday October 18th at 7:30 PM under the lights.
