ERIE, Pa. - The Lakers wrapped up the series against Penn State this afternoon.
Penn State took the game 2-3.
How it Happened
First Period
Jada Brenon made a big save when facing a lone Nittany Lion.
No goals were scored, but Brenon did save 14 shots on net.
Second Period
Brenon had another series of strong saves mid-way through the second.
The Lakers outshot the Nittany Lions 11-7 in the period.
Third Period
Penn State earned the first goal of the game at 5:48. It happened to be on the Laker power play.
The Lakers struck back at 8:01. Liliane Perreault snuck it in from the side on a power play. Kylee Mahoney and Jordan Mortlock helped right in front of the net.
The Puck bounced off the pad of Penn State's goalie which gave Megan McKay an opportunity to score. Vanessa Upson and Sara Boucher assisted at 15:36.
The Nittany Lions came back to tie the game 2-2 at 19:37.
Overtime
At 00:23 Penn State won the game, 2-3.

Playoff Picture
The Lakers are tied with Syracuse with 10 points. This puts the Lakers in second place. Penn State is at the top of the standings.
The top four teams in the CHA will head into the playoffs. The Semi finals will be best-of-three with the top seeds hosting.
The 2023 CHA Championship will be held on either March 3 or 4, 2023 with it being a single game.
Next Game
The Lakers will stay at home to take on Syracuse on Jan. 28 and 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
Saturday's contest will have a chuck-a-puck contest as well as a 50/50 with all proceeds going to the Erie Humane Society.
