Lakers Roar Past Lions to Earn a Conference Sweep

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO. - The Lakers concluded the series with Lindenwood this afternoon, Jan. 14, 2023.

The team earned a sweep, winning the tilt 3-2.

How it Happened

First Period

Liliane Perreault earned the first goal of the game at 2:15. Grace Nelles was on the assist.

At 6:33 Jada Brenon had a major save.

Perreault stepped out of the box and sent the puck deep into the net at 15:50. Jersey Phillips and Sami Gendron snagged the assists.

The Lions were able to put one on the board at 16:12.

Second Period

At 13:15, Thea Johansson and Sydney Pedersen passed the puck to Mary Sweetapple for her second career goal. It also happened to be a powerplay.

The Lions scored another goal at 15:38

Third Period

The third period was scoreless, Brenon stopped six shots on net and the Lakers won 15 faceoffs.

Highlights

Perreault picked up two goals. 

Pedersen blocked a pair of shots. 

Vanessa Upson had a 71.4% faceoff win percentage.
