Erie, Pa.—Men's Hockey announced their schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 season. The schedule consists of four non-conference series', 13 Atlantic Hockey series', and one exhibition game.
The Lakers open the season on October 1st and 2nd for homecoming as the Ohio State Buckeyes return to the Mercyhurst Ice Center for the first time since 2019. The following weekend the Lakers travel to RPI for a two game series against the Engineers. The final two non-conference series' will be a home and home series with Penn State on Oct. 14 and 16 and an away series with Clarkson on Oct. 21-22.
Mercyhurst will once again face the United States National Team Development Program on January 7th on the road.
The Atlantic Hockey schedule starts on Oct. 28-29 with a home and home with Niagara and will end on Feb. 24-25 with a second home and home series with Niagara.
Last season the Lakers won seven of their last ten regular season games to earn home ice in the first round of the playoffs. After earning sweeps of Holy Cross and Canisius the Lakers advanced to their first AHA Final Four since 2015.
