Louisville, KY—The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced their Scholar All-Americans this week. Four Lakers earned the honor, they join a very small list of Lakers to be named a Scholar All-American.
Liam Bogrdain was dominate for the Lakers on the field. He was a first team GMAC and was a USILA All-Region and All-American selection. While being one of the best in the nation on the field off the field he had a 3.59 GPA in Biology and Neuroscience. In his senior season he led the team with 22 caused turnovers. He netted two goals and two assists while grabbing 25 groundballs.
Jacob Emerson closed out his Mercyhurst career with 18 goals while adding seven assists. He was a member of the GMAC Third Team while also being named an Academic All-American. He also picked up ten groundballs in 16 games played, he also started in 14 of them. In his career he played 46 games while netting 38 goals. He had a 3.71 GPA while finishing his bachelor's degree in biology in three years. He started his master's degree in organizational leadership and has a 3.5 GPA.
Bryce Johnson needed just three years to graduate with a bachelor's degree in finance. While having a 3.87 GPA he started in all 16 games this season while being second on the team with 73 points. He dished out a team high 50 assists while collecting 20 groundballs. This season he was a member of the GMAC first team and was a second team All-Region player. He was also an All-American Honorable Mention. Against Chestnut Hill on March 26th the Dexter, N.Y. native tallied 11 points which is a career high in a game. Johnson was also a CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large honoree.
The final Scholar All-American is Todd Redman who had a 3.54 GPA in biology. On the field he played 15 games while starting in seven of them. He finished the season with ten goals while adding 11 assists. On the defensive side he caused one turnover while collecting six groundballs. While notching 21 points he had five multi point games. In the GMAC semifinals he had a season high four points against Walsh. In 34 career games he scored 20 times while adding 14 assists.
There are now 25 Lakers all-time that have been named Scholar All-Americans in program history.
