Erie, Pa.—The Mercyhurst Football Schedule for 2022 has been announced along with ticket information for the upcoming season.
The Lakers open the season in West Virginia as they face the Alderson Broaddus Battlers on Sept. 3 at 6:00 PM. The next week the Lakers go back on the road for matchup with fellow PSAC member Lock Haven.
On Sept. 17 the Lakers return to Saxon Stadium for their home opener. They will matchup with Kutztown with a noon kickoff. After coming home, the Lakers start their PSAC West schedule on the road against IUP.
October 1st is homecoming for the Lakers as they face Erie County rival Edinboro for their 18th matchup all-time. After playing the Fighting Scot's, the Lakers head down I-79 to face Slippery Rock. On Oct. 15 the Lakers welcome the Golden Eagles of Clarion for their fourth PSAC West game of the season.
The battle of Erie takes place at the other Erie college this year as Mercyhurst faces Gannon on Oct. 22 at noon. After coming back from Gannon, the Lakers face California (Pa.) at home for their final PSAC West home game of the season. The PSAC West slate comes to an end on November 5th as the Lakers visit Seton Hill. The final game of the season is scheduled to be home against Shepherd at noon on November 12th.
For the first time in 20 years, the Lakers enter the season with a new head coach. Ryan Riemedio starts his career as a head coach this season. "Excited is an understatement! We can't wait to get the team back on campus in early August. We are looking forward to the new members joining the team and to see the continued growth from the spring" Riemedio said.
The ten-year vet knows any season is tough but is looking forward to it. "We have a very challenging schedule this year but we look forward to taking it on day by day, week by week, and game by game. It's always tough to start the season on the road, but September 3rd is right around the corner and we can't wait to kickoff."
Ticket Information
Season tickets are a great way to catch all home games this fall under new coach Ryan Riemedio. Adult season tickets are $40/package, with 20% savings off regular admission. Youth/Senior/Military are $25/package, with 30% savings off regular admission. Each package purchased covers ALL FIVE home games! Gridiron Club parking passes are also available, while supplies last! This is a great way for all fans alike to tailgate before and after every home game! Click here to learn more! Full membership to the Gridiron club is $200 per year. A primary benefit for full Gridiron Club members is access to special parking areas on ALL home game days at Mercyhurst. Members of the Gridiron Club will have their own parking area on Homecoming! Members will be able to park in front of Warde Hall, with easy access to Saxon Stadium. Space will be reserved.
