Women’s Lacrosse Lands Three on PSAC West Second Team

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference released its annual PSAC All-Conference Selections for Women's Lacrosse on Monday afternoon with Mercyhurst landing Mackenzie Murphy, Victoria Gottorff, and Kaitlyn Lippert all on the PSAC West Second Team.

This is Murphy's second selection to the second team All-PSAC West. She concluded the regular season of her senior season leading the team with 26 caused turnovers and 39 ground balls. She was a key member of the Mercyhurst defensive unit, starting in all 17 games for the Lakers. She added two goals and two assists this season for her first points of the defender's career. She had a season-high four caused turnovers on three separate occasions while her five ground balls recorded against Slippery Rock on March 13th marked her most in any game this season.

Gottorff was chosen to her first career PSAC All-Conference team. The junior from Webster New York scored a goal in every game the Lakers played this season except for one. She finished the regular season with a team leading 59 points on 35 goals and 24 assists. She scored on exactly 50% of her shots on goal to also lead the Lakers. She had five games this season in which she registered five or more points including a nine point performance in the teams win over Slippery Rock back on April 9th. 

Lippert was selected to the PSAC West second team for the second time in her career. The senior from Clay New York started all 17 games for the Lakers this season. Her .530 save percentage finished as second best in all of Division 2 while her 8.50 goals against average was fifth in the country. She finished the season with 145 saves including a season-high 20 saves against Slippery Rock on April 9th. She also registered 31 ground balls and four caused turnovers for the Lakers this season.
