LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Mackenzie Murphy of the Mercyhurst Women's Lacrosse Team was honored by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon by being named the Western Division's Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Murphy helped anchor the Laker defense during the team's two wins this week which clinched them the No.2 seed out of the West. She compiled seven caused turnovers and seven ground balls during the week while also being credited with an assist in the teams 13-9 victory on Saturday over Gannon. 

Mackenzie and the rest of the Lakers will be back in action this Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. when they will host IUP in the PSAC Quarterfinals.
