Men’s Lacrosse Picks up 22-8 Victory over Molloy

ERIE, PA – The Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team was victorious on Saturday afternoon as they defeated the visiting Molloy College Lions by a 22-8 score. 19 different Lakers recorded a point including Ethan Landymore who led Mercyhurst with seven goals.

Mercyhurst got out to a quick lead as Myles Hamm and Landymore combined for the first three goals of the game to put the Lakers up 3-0. The green and white would go on to close out the first quarter on top by a 6-2 margin with Hamm and Landymore each recording hat-tricks in the opening quarter.

Mercyhurst began the second quarter on a 7-0 run led by the charge of Landymore and Hamm again. Bryce Johnson and Gavin Ingalls additionally scored during the scoring run. Molloy was able to stop the streak at the 6:23 mark in the quarter when they scored their third goal of the game, however the Lakers closed out the period with goals from Jacob Emerson and Quinn Simonson to extend their lead to 14-3 entering the halftime break.

The Lakers continued their dominance in the second half, outsourcing the Lions 8-5 in the half. In the half, freshman James Hyde and Adam Oscarson scored their first career collegiate goals.  Casey Scott put in two scores while Jared Butler and Patrick Carozzi scored the remaining tallies for the Lakers. In addition to the couple of first time goal scorers, Mercyhurst's  Antonio Rossetti, Jeremi Phoenix-Lefebvre, and Tim Weisensel all earned their first career points via assist.

The Lakers will return to action next Saturday at home where they will host Rockhurst University at noon.
