ERIE, PA – The Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team will be back in action this week for two games against non-conference opponents. The Lakers will first travel to D'Youville tomorrow to take on the Saints at 5:00 p.m. before coming back to Erie to host Tiffin in their home opener on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Here is five things you need to know about the their week ahead.
Last Time Out
Last Sunday, the Lakers opened up 2022 regular season play against No. 6 West Chester, falling to the Golden Rams by a 14-6 margin. The Lakers earned goals from

On defense,
Mackenzie Murphy caused two Golden Rams turnovers and recorded one ground ball while Kenzie Schoeder picked up three ground balls. Senior goaltender
Kaitlyn Lippert earned the start in net for head coach
Sam Struss. Lippert saved 12 West Chester shots to go with three ground balls.
Scouting D'Youville
The Saints have already played in three games this season winning two of them. The two wins have come against Caldwell and Felician University while the loss was to division III Rochester.
The Saints have been led on attack by Marissa Malvaso who has recorded 12 goals and five assists through the teams first three contests.
Scouting Tiffin
The Dragons will come into Friday's contest with an 0-1 record, losing their first game on Sunday to No.1 Lindenwood by a 20-1 scoreline. The Dragons lone goal in that contest came courtesy of Gabby Wilson.
Tiffin returns their second leading scorer from last season in Daniela Carey who tallied 33 goals to go with 13 assists in 2021. The Dragons also return their leading goalkeeper from last season Jenay Rennie. Rennie finished last season with a 5-7 record while saving 120 shots on a 47.2 save percentage.
Against the Saints
The Lakers and Saints have only squared off against one another one previous time in the two programs histories, that contest coming last season. In the game Mercyhurst took a commanding 18-7 victory over the Saints.
Against the Dragons
The Lakers have never lost to Tiffin as they have gone a perfect 9-0 against the Dragons since the teams first met back in 2010. Most recently, the Lakers came away with a 19-9 victory over Tiffin when the teams last met on March 7th, 2020.
