Women’s Basketball Hosts Edinboro on the CW Network

Erie, Pa.—The Mercyhurst Women's Basketball team returns to Owen McCormick Court Saturday as they host Erie County rival Edinboro at 5:30 p.m. The game will be featured locally on the CW Network.

The Matchup

Edinboro is 50-11 all-time against the Lakers since they first met in 1974. The two teams went to battle when they last met on Jan. 19 in Edinboro, taking two overtimes to decide the game before the Fighting Scots gained a 91-88 advantage.

The Hunt for 1,000

Redshirt senior Emily Shopene could become the second Laker to reach 1,000 career points this season after MiyKah McIntosh crossed the threshold earlier this season with the men. Shopene, an Erie native, currently sits at 978 points with four games left on the schedule. She is averaging 9.0 points per game.

Coming to the Game?

Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance here. Tickets may also be purchased via phone by calling 814-824-2560. Fans should also note that masks are no longer required to be worn inside the Mercyhurst Athletics Center.

Mercyhurst University and Lilly Broadcasting are partnering to showcase Saturday's women's and men's games on the CW Network (Spectrum: Channel 3 or 1003, Dish Network: Channel 3 or 7048, DirecTV: Channel 36, and 35.2 over-the-air).

Lilly Broadcasting viewers reach the tri-state area with Erie County, Crawford County and Warren County being the primary viewing areas. Fans outside of the televised area will still be able to view the game on the Mercyhurst Sports Network.

Scouting the Fighting Scots
