Erie, Pa.—Following a 70-58 win at NR/RV Pitt-Johnstown Wednesday night, the Mercyhurst Men's Basketball team has a chance to play spoiler as they host Edinboro Saturday night on the CW Network.
The Matchup
The Lakers and Fighting Scots first met to open Mercyhurst's 1972-73 season, and Edinboro is 52-42 ever since. The Lakers won the first game of the season series on Jan. 19, when they won 95-60. The 60 points Mercyhurst allowed to Edinboro is the third-lowest point total for a PSAC opponent this season.
Centurions
Wednesday's game at Pitt-Johnstown was Nicholas Lang's 100th wearing a Mercyhurst uniform. He will be joined Saturday by MiyKah McIntosh, who will play in his 100th game for the Lakers. Steve Cannady needs just five more games to join the 100-game club, though his games are split between Mercyhurst and his previous school, Wheeling.
In the Region
The NCAA announced its first round of regional rankings this week, and the Lakers appeared at No. 6. Indiana (Pa.) topped the Atlantic Region, and UPJ showed up at No. 4. A win over the Mountain Cats Wednesday gives the Lakers a good argument to move up the next rankings.
Coming to the Game?
Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance here. Tickets may also be purchased via phone by calling 814-824-2560. Fans should also note that masks are no longer required to be worn inside the Mercyhurst Athletics Center.
How to Watch
Mercyhurst University and Lilly Broadcasting are partnering to showcase Saturday's women's and men's games on the CW Network (Spectrum: Channel 3 or 1003, Dish Network: Channel 3 or 7048, DirecTV: Channel 36, and 35.2 over-the-air).
Lilly Broadcasting viewers reach the tri-state area with Erie County, Crawford County and Warren County being the primary viewing areas. Fans outside of the televised area will still be able to view the game on the Mercyhurst Sports Network.
Scouting the Fighting Scots
Edinboro is 8-15 overall and 6-12 in PSAC play following their 83-71 loss to IUP Wednesday. Deontae Robertson leads the Fighting Scots offensively with 19.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
