Walker Wins PSAC Wrestler of the Week

Lock Haven, Pa.- It did not take Mercyhurst Wrestling's Dillon Walker all that long to pick up right where he left off last season as he wins his first PSAC Wrestler of the Week award for the 2022-23 season. Walker won the PPG Athlete of the Week award already, giving him two honors on the week after a trio of wins in the Glenville State Duals this past weekend.

Walker and the rest of Mercyhurst Wrestling traveled to Glenville, WV for the Glenville State Duals where they came out 2-1 while the sophomore went undefeated on the weekend. Walker began Saturday, and the season, against Owen Butler of #3 Indianapolis at 174 with a win by decision. He then followed that with a dominant performance in the Laker's first win of the season against Findlay. The native of Cincinnati, Oh. was a major part of the convincing 28-17 effort for Mercyhurst against the Oilers as he grabbed the tech fall win over Kenny Snyder. He rounded out his day with another solid win to be the only Laker to finish without a loss to his ledger. This time around, he was faced with Hunter DeLong of the host, Glenville. He wasn't fazed by the Pioneer as won his third and final match of the event via the decision.

Walker and the rest of Mercyhurst Wrestling return to the mat this weekend when they go to Findlay, Oh. to take part in the Findlay Open hosted by the Oilers on Saturday, November 19th.
