Erie, Pa. - With their season right around the corner, Mercyhurst Men's Wrestling's Head Coach Mike Wehler announces the 2022-23 schedule.
The Lakers see their season begin on the road as they travel to Glenville, W.V. for the Glenville State Duals on November 10th. They won't see their first home contest until the beginning of December when they host Ashland University on December the 2nd followed by a bout with Lake Erie College one week late on the 9th.
Mercyhurst has a full slate planned for the month of January with the team set to compete in five events. They begin with the NWCA National duals in Louisville Kentucky on the 6th and 7th of January before returning home for a pair of matches. The first of those two competitions is at Gannon on Friday, January 13th, followed by the Lakers hosting Shippensburg on the 20th.
February begins with the final two home events of the year for Mercyhurst on back-to-back days. The first of those matches is against Seton Hill on Friday, February 3rd, while Millersville comes to town on the 4th for Mercyhurst's home finale. The Lakers then have one regular season match remaining on their schedule with the team set to travel to take on UPJ on February 10th.
After their competition with the Mountain Cats, Mercyhurst prepares for the postseason with things beginning on February 25th. The Lakers hope to compete in the NCAA Super Regional Tournament in East Stroudsburg, Pa. Before eying the NCAA National Tournament which is scheduled for March 10th and 11th in Cedar Rapids, Ia.
