Erie, Pa.—Mercyhurst Women's Basketball looks to bounce back from Saturday's 77-58 loss at Indiana (Pa.) as they return to Owen McCormick Court to host Pitt-Johnstown Monday at 5:30 p.m.
The Matchup
The Mountain Cats hold the advantage in the all-time series between these two teams with a 22-13 record against Mercyhurst. They swept the season series back in the 2019-20 season. Their most recent meeting on Feb. 19, 2020, took two overtimes to decide before UPJ came up with a win.
Leading the Way
The Lakers are led by redshirt freshman Grace Centrulla, who is having a productive season with 16 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Jayde Boyd is the only other Laker scoring in the double-digits with 11.4 per game. She has also pulled down 6.4 rebounds per game, with Emily Shopene and her 6.3 just behind her.
Scouting the Mountain Cats
Like Mercyhurst, Pitt-Johnstown finds themselves in the lower half of the PSAC West standings. They hold an 8-10 overall record (6-6 in conference play) after taking down No. 14 Gannon, 72-53, on Saturday. Makalyn Clapper led all scorers with 17 points, and Olivia Fasick and Ashley Norling added 16 each. Norling made it a double-double with 10 rebounds.
