Erie, PA -- Mercyhurst Volleyball is back in action this Friday and Saturday for a pair of PSAC West matchups. On Friday, the Lakers will welcome Slippery Rock to the newly renovated Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
On Saturday, Mercyhurst makes the trip down to Johnstown, Pa. There they will battle against UPJ, that match is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
Last Weekend's Recap
Last weekend the Laker volleyball team opened up the MAC on Friday night in grand fashion. The seats were packed and the crowd was electric as the Lakers went on to sweep West Virginia Wesleyan 3-0.
Following Friday's match, Mercyhurst hosted Davis & Elkins and Shepherd the following day. The Lakers grinded as they forced fifth sets in both matches however they fell short losing 13-15 to D&E and 12-15 vs Shepherd.
Season Leaders
Beth Brady holds a team high 140 kills throughout the first 11 games for Mercyhurst. Fellow Seniors Madison Kasper (115) and Hailey Wilson (79) round out the top three for Mercyhurst.
As for the Setters, Alexa Mitchell has been credited with 217 assists so far this season. Isabella McCaffrey has 164 assists as the two have split setting duties pretty evenly.

Zoe Gadomski (17) are currently leading the team in service aces.
Scouting Slippery Rock
Slippery Rock's record currently sits at 3-10. "The Rock" has wins over Roberts Wesleyan, Lock Haven, and West Liberty. Slippery Rock has been swept 0-3 in five of their 10 losses this year.
Scouting UPJ
Pitt Johnstown comes into the weekend with an 8-1 record. Since an 0-3 opening match loss to West Liberty, UPJ has gone a perfect 8-0 and have only dropped five sets in those eight matches.
