ERIE, PA -- The Mercyhurst Volleyball team will play host to West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday evening at 7:05 p.m in what will be the grand opening of the newly renovated Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The team will play an additional two games the following day.
 In game one the Lakers matchup against Davis & Elkins College at 10:05 a.m. Game two on Saturday will see Mercyhurst vs. Shepherd University in a PSAC matchup.
What's New
Some of the renovations to the Athletic Center include a 90 degree turn of the court, two video boards, chair-back seating, a renovated lobby, additional basketball hoops, and hospitality space. Â

Admission to the game is FREE and will include a post-game autograph session. There will be food and beverages available, including beer, wine and seltzer.Â
From the Cavalier Invitational
The Lakers will look to bounce back after going 1-3 at the Cavalier Invitational last week. The Lakers win was a 3-1 victory over Davenport University. Senior
Madison Kasper put down a game-high 19 kills to lead the Lakers in the win.

Scouting WVW
 West Virginia Wesleyan has only played four matches this season and is currently 0-4. The Bobcats will travel to Cal on Wednesday evening before coming to Erie on Friday.

Scouting D&E
 Davis & Elkins brings a 1-6 record with them to Erie. The Senators lone win came against PSAC East member Kutztown. Before their match up with Mercyhurst the Senators will play Shepherd on Friday.

Scouting Shepherd
 Shepherd comes into the weekend of play boasting a 6-1 record. The Rams' most recent victory came against Mercy College three sets to one. Shepherd will play two matches on Friday against Davis & Elkins, and Edinboro, and one more on Saturday before their match against the Lakers vs. West Virginia Wesleyan.
