Men’s Basketball to Visit Le Moyne Thursday

Erie, Pa.—After a hot start to PSAC play, the No. 3/8 Mercyhurst Men's Basketball team will take a brief detour as they head on the road to Le Moyne Thursday.

The Matchup

The all-time series between the Lakers and Dolphins dates back to 1985, and the Dolphins have seen the majority of success with a 17-1 record against Mercyhurst. The two teams last met Dec. 14, 2019, when the Dolphins won 76-66. Before that, the teams had not met since 1993.

Where They Rank

The Lakers have held steady at No. 3 in the NABC national poll and jumped a spot to No. 8 in the national D2SIDA media poll after a 2-0 weekend to start conference play. In the Atlantic Region, the media ranked Mercyhurst No. 2 behind Indiana (Pa.).

Season of Giving (and Taking)

Senior Nicholas Lang has been a menace on the court for the Lakers, and especially at the free-throw line. Lang is one of just eight players in the nation that has not missed from the charity stripe this season, having made all 21 of his attempts. He is also averaging 2.7 steals per game, leading the Lakers to a 13.3 average, the second-highest mark in the country.

Scouting the Dolphins

Le Moyne is off to a 5-3 start and 2-2 in early NE10 play. The Dolphins have three players averaging in the double-digits with Christian Davis (15.6), Kevin Constant (13.1) and Nino Hernandez (12.4).
