Field Hockey Welcomes No. 2 West Chester to Saxon Stadium

This Saturday evening the Mercyhurst Field Hockey team will take Saxon stadium to battle the visiting Rams of West Chester at 5:30 p.m. The Lakers come into the game following a loss to No. 1 ranked Shippensburg University.

The Game

The Rams and Lakers have matched up 11 times in the two programs' histories. West Chester has won all 11 games. In 2018, Mercyhurst narrowly lost to the Rams 3-2 in a thriller at Saxon Stadium. 

Scouting West Chester 

West Chester comes into this contest as the No. 1 ranked team in the country. West Chester holds an 8-2 season record. Their only two losses have come against No. 2 Shippensburg.

Valerie van Kuijck is the Rams leading goal scorer, the freshman from The Netherlands has totaled 17 points on seven goals and three assists.
