COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Mercyhurst men's hockey team battled but came up on the wrong end of a 2-1 decision at Air Force in Atlantic Hockey action Saturday night.
Marshall Bowery scored the eventual game-winner with 3:07 to play in the third when a puck deflected in front and on to his stick. Bowery wristed the puck into the top of net.
Air Force grabbed the lead in the second period with a tally Blake Bride at the 7:21 mark.
Justin Cmunt provided the answer for the Lakers on the power play.
Ethan Johnson grabbed the puck in the corner and passed to Cmunt on the right half wall. After curling back, Cmunt wired a wrister past a screened Alex Schilling to knot the game with 9:15 remaining in the frame. The teams would go into the second intermission tied 1-1.
The teams played a scoreless first with each team going 0-for-1 on the man-advantage. The best chance of the period came on a 2-on-1 for the Lakers.

Ethan Johnson who was robbed by a sprawling Alex Schilling.
For the second time in as many nights, senior goalie
Garrett Metcalf made 40 saves. In addition to Johnson,
Carver Watson picked up an assist on the Cmunt tally.
The Lakers close out the regular season with a pair of games at the Mercyhurst Ice Center Friday and Saturday against Canisius. Friday is Fan Appreciation Night tickets are just $2 up to game time. Saturday is Cancer Awareness Night. Fans can bid on special game worn jerseys. Tickets can be purchased
here and puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. both nights.
