Today's student-athlete question and answer is with men's basketball graduate student forward
Melkisedek Moreaux. Moreaux, a native of Hamburg, Germany, will look to play his first game in a Lakers uniform during the 2020-2021 season after sitting out last season due to transferring in from Saint Bonaventure University. With the Bonnies in 2018-19, Moreaux appeared in ten games averaging 7.4 minutes per game and shooting at a 71.4% clip from the foul line. Before his time at the Division I level he spent two seasons at Northeast Community College, appearing in 53 games averaging a double-double.

What made you choose Mercyhurst? I chose Mercyhurst because of the academic standards and Coach Manchel.
What is your major and why did you choose it? I am a Sport Psychology major. I chose that because I want to be able to help elite athletes reach peak performance through sport psychology.
What is the best thing about being at Mercyhurst? The best part of Mercyhurst is being able to play basketball for a good program and getting a fantastic education.
What is your favorite sports memory so far at Mercyhurst? I honestly don't have one yet, because of having to sit out last season.
Do you have any pre or post game rituals? I like to say a prayer before and after the game! To give thanks and to show my gratefulness for the opportunity I have.
Where do you hope to stop for a post-game meal? I would like to stop at Steak and Shake.
What is your team's focus heading into next season? Our focus is to win a championship. It is as simple as that.
Does being an athlete help you in the classroom? If so why? Yes, because I keep the same mentality I have on the court in the classroom which helps me to succeed in both places.
Personal questions:
Who is your favorite athlete (current or retired)? My favorite athlete is Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant. May he rest in peace.
What are some of your favorite ways to spend time outside of your sport? I like to play soccer because it keeps me working on my footwork and skills that can help me on the court, but also can leave some options open.
Do you have any pets? No, I do not.
What was something you liked as a child that you do not enjoy as much anymore? I used to enjoy the show Dragon Ball Z.
If you could go anywhere in the world for vacation where would it be and why? I would like to go to Ghana, because it is just so beautiful and the people there are so peaceful.
If you could swap lives with a celebrity for a week who would it be and why? I would want to swap lives with Muhammad Ali. I want to know what it was like when he was fighting inequality while being the best at his craft.
What is something unique and interesting about you that we should know? I am actually a very funny guy. You just have to break the ice and get to know me to find that out.
If you could play another sport what would it be and why? I would play soccer, because it was my first love and I am still very good at it.
What was something you did not like as a child, but do now? Nothing really I am still the same guy.
Who is your biggest role model? My biggest role models are my parents. They taught me everything I know and the love I have for them is eternal.
If you were able to see 20 years into the future what do you hope exists and why? A society where everything is equal and racism does not exist.
Who are some of your favorite college or professional teams? I do not really have any stateside, but I do support Arsenal Football Club of the English Premier League.
If you could have a band or a solo artist perform a private concert for you, who would it be and why? Michael Jackson
What is your favorite sports memory so far at any level? Being ranked the fifth best basketball player in England.
