Women's Ice Hockey Skates to 1-1 Tie with Penn State

ERIE, Pa. –  The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team tied Penn State during College America Hockey action on Friday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
 
Michele Robillard scored while Emma Nuutinen had an assist for Mercyhurst (12-8-3, 6-2-1 CHA).
 
Rene Gangarosa scored for Penn State (9-9-5, 4-3-2 CHA).
 
Robillard opened the scoring for the game at 1:17 of the first period. Nuutinen dished it over to Robillard who took it up the ice and scored off of her own rebound.
 
Penn State scored with 1:43 left in the third period to tie the game at 1-1.
 
During overtime a possible Laker goal was called off which ended the game in a 1-1 tie,
 
Both teams went 1-for-6 on the power play.
 
Kennedy Blair made 30 saves for Mercyhurst while Chantal Bruke made 29 saves for Penn State.
 
Both teams are back in action on Saturday at the MIC. Puck drops at 2:05 p.m. for the first ever Autism Awareness game. The first 100 fans receive a free t-shirt. Game worn jerseys can be bought for $125. Tickets for the game can be purchased HERE.
