COLUMBUS, Ohio –
Connor Wilkinson scored two goals as the Mercyhurst men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season, 2-1, over non-conference opponent Ohio Dominican on Sunday.
Gustavo Requeijo and
Henri Tophoven tallied assists for the Lakers.
Wilkinson starting off the scoring in the fourth minute with an assist from Requeijo.
Ohio Dominican came back with a goal from Khalif Hassan in the 43rd minute to knot the game at 1-1 heading into halftime.
Wilkinson netted his second goal of the game in the 50th minute, with an assist from Tophoven, to give the Lakers an eventual 2-1 win.
The Lakers held an 11-2 edge in corner kicks and a 20-8 advantage in shots.
Winning goaltender
Martin Jarc made two saves for Mercyhurst while Ian Crook made seven saves in net for the Panthers.
The Lakers are back in action on Sept. 14 when they travel to the University of the District of Columbia for a 1:00 p.m. game.
