Wold Earns Fourth Shutout in 3-0 Win over Pitt Johnstown

 JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's soccer team shutout Pitt Johnstown 3-0 during Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play on Wednesday.
 
Maia Russo, Maya Bauer and Kenzie Grenell scored while Fern Lazenby, Emma Scali and Sydney Snyder tallied assists.
 
Vilde Wold was perfect in net with three saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season.
 
Russo got the Lakers on the board in the 32nd minute. Lazenby passed the ball up to Russo who chipped it over Pitt Johnstown goaltender Maria Mosqurea.
 
During the second half, Bauer extended the Lakers lead to 2-0 when she finished off Scali's rebounded shot in the 73rd minute.
 
Grenell scored her first goal of the season in the 86th minute. Snyder crossed the ball over for Grenell to head it into the back of the left side of the net.
 
Mosquera made 10 saves in net for Pitt Johnstown.
 
Mercyhurst held a 17-7 edge in shots and a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.
 
The Lakers are back in action on Sept. 28 when they host Seton Hill at Saxon Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
