Women's Soccer Falls 2-1 to Edinboro

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's soccer team fell 2-1 to Edinboro during Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Monday.
 
After a scoreless first half, Edinboro (4-2-0, 4-0-0) got on the board first with a goal from Brittnie Spithaler. Edinboro then went up 2-0 when Danielle Chatten scored on the breakaway.
 
With 3:37 left on the clock, Santos shot the ball into the back left corner of the net to get the Mercyhurst (2-2-1, 1-2-0) on the board. Russo picked up an assist on the goal.
 
In net, Vilde Wold made eight saves for the Lakers while Anna Voelker made six saves for the Fighting Scots.
 
Edinboro had a 17-14 edge in shots and a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
 
The Lakers are back in action on Sept. 25 when they head to Pitt Johnstown for a 4:00 p.m. game.
