AVON, OH.—The Mercyhurst Baseball team took care of Notre Dame College (OH.) on the road for its second win of the season over the Falcons on Tuesday, 6-1.
 
The Lakers own, Matthew Gibson, Matthew Schneider and Josh Surowiec led the Lakers with two hits each.  Each also had an RBI out of the team's six. 

On the mound, Chad Cwik earned his second win of the year going five innings, allowing one run and struck out six.

For the Falcons, Zarek Simkovich led NDC with three hits going three for four on the day. Todd Marshall got the loss going four innings, allowing seven hits, four runs and six strikeouts.
In the first, MU put up two off of an Alex O'Donnell single scoring Gibson while Surowiec tripled to left field, scoring O'Donnell.  Notre Dame College (15-22) scored one in the bottom of the first off a Paskell single to cut the deficit to one. 

From there, Mercyhurst (20-8) took control scoring the next four runs of the game.  In the third, Schneider doubled scoring Gibson.  Looking into the fourth, Luke Baranchak and Gibson both tallied an RBI to make the score 5-1.  To add some insurance, Jack Elliott singled to center scoring Ben Monti as MU took the win on the road, 6-1.
 
NEXT UP: The Lakers will host Slippery Rock in a doubleheader on Friday as they open another PSAC weekend series.
