ERIE, Pa.—The Mercyhurst baseball team dropped both games to Seton Hill on Saturday in the opening of another PSAC weekend series.
Game One (L, 22-1):
The Mercyhurst Lakers had five hits in game one including
Hunter Snyder who scored the lone run for the Lakers off of a Josh Suroweic RBI.
For Seton Hill, Nick Stotler led way going three for four with three homeruns and six RBI. Tommy Pellis also had six RBI and with three hits as well.
Early in the game, Seton Hill jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Josh Suroweic was able to cut the deficit to one scoring
Hunter Snyder. The Griffins responded quickly off of a Nick Stotler two-run homer putting SHU up 4-1. Seton Hill kept the bats going and would score three more runs to make the score 7-1 going into the bottom of the second.Â
Unfortunately, Mercyhurst could not get the bats going and would lose game one by a score of 22-1. SHU had 18 hits compared to the Lakers five.
Losing pitcher was Mercyhurst's own
Christian Young receiving his first loss of the season. Young went three innings allowing five runs, six hits and recorded two strikeouts.
Winning pitcher was Jared Kollar, pitching five innings, allowing four hits and recording nine strikeouts.

Game Two (L, 4-1):
In the Second game, Seton Hill jumped on the board early again scoring one run in the first. From there,
Matthew Minnick took over getting all three outs himself via strikeout. In the second, Minnick was dealing, striking out all three batters. From there, Minnick averaged two strikeouts an inning.
Mercyhurst was able to wake up the bats in the sixth and scored its first run of the game off of an
Alex O'Donnell RBI scoring DeRenzo making the score 3-1. Seton Hill would then score another run for insurance off a past ball and would eventually run away with game two, 4-1. All four runs for the Griffins were unearned runs.
Losing pitcher was Lakers own
Matthew Minnick despite his 15 strikeouts, going six innings and only allowing four hits.Â
Winning pitcher was Seton Hill's own Coyle, going all seven innings, only allowing four hits and one run.

Next Up: The Lakers will travel to Seton Hill tomorrow to finish up the conference weekend series. Due to weather, game one will start at 12:00 PM.
