Mercyhurst men's ice hockey junior Joseph Duszak was named the Hockey Commissioners Association National Player of the Month, as announced by the HCA on Tuesday.
During the month of January, Duszak recorded points in all eight games. He scored nine goals and added eight assists for 17 points. He also recorded his first collegiate hat trick en route to being named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Month.
Duszak was named the AHA Defensive Player of the Week three times during the month of January and rode a 12-game point streak.
He is ranked second in the nation with 1.34 points per game as a defenseman, sixth in the nation with 1.34 points per game and tenth in the nation with 0.86 assists per game.Â
Duszak is leading the Laker roster with 14 goals, 25 assists and 39 points. He has picked up two power play goals, one shorthanded goal and four game-winning goals.
