ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team tied Air Force, 3-3, in Atlantic Hockey action at the Mercyhurst Ice Center on Friday.
Joshua Lammon had one goal and one assist for the Lakers (13-15-5, 11-10-4).
Joseph Duszak and
Matthew Whittaker also had goals.
Assists were recorded by
Owen Norton,
Steven Ipri,
Derek Barach and
James Anderson.
Brady Tomlak led Air Force with one goal and two assists. Jake Levin and Marsh Bowery also had goals.
Mercyhurst took the game's first lead, connecting on a power-play goal by Lammon in the first period. He deflected a shot from the point by Ipri. Norton also assisted the play.
Air Force tied the game on a power-play tally by Tomlak in the second period before the Lakers regained the lead on a Whittaker goal later in the frame. Whittaker was assisted by Barach and Lammon.
The vistiing Falcons (14-12-5, 12-9-4) had a pair of goals within 1:34 of one another in the third to take a 3-2 advantage. Bowery scored and then Levin had a power-play score.
Duszak tied the contest with 6:58 remaining, getting an assist from Lammon.
Stefano Cantali had 37 saves for MU while Billy Christopoulous totaled 19 saves for the Falcons.
Mercyhurst was 1-for-5 on the power play while Air Force finished 2 of 5.
The Lakers remain in sixth place in the Atlantic Hockey standings -- two points behind fourth-place teams Air Force and Sacred Heart.
Mercyhurst and Air Force will meet again in Erie on Saturday, beginning at 7:05 p.m.
