Box Score MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team fell 3-1 to Robert Morris during College Hockey America action on Saturday.
Summer-Rae Dobson scored while
Emma Nuutinen and
Sam Isbell had assists for Mercyhurst (10-5-1, 5-1-0 CHA).
Emily Curlett, Angelica Diffendal and Lexi Templeman scored for Robert Morris (10-6-2, 5-1-0 CHA).
During the first period, Dobson tallied a power play goal to give Mercyhurst a 1-0 lead. Isbell passed it up to Nuutinen who wrapped it around the net and took a shot. The shot was deflected towards Dobson, who stuffed it into the back of the net for her eighth goal of the season.
Robert Morris scored two goals during the second period to take a 2-1 lead. Curlett tied the game at 1-1 on the power play 21 seconds into the second period. Diffendal then scored at 4:51 to give the Colonials the lead.
During the third period, Robert Morris tallied its second power play goal of the game to extended its lead to 3-1 and eventual win.
Kennedy Blair made 29 saves in net for the Lakers while Arielle DeSmet made 24 saves in net for the Colonials.
Mercyhurst went 1-for-5 on the power play while Robert Morris was 2-for-7.
The Lakers are back in action for their last weekend series before the holiday break on Dec. 13-14 at the Mercyhurst Ice Center. Puck drops against non-conference opponent St. Cloud at 6:05 p.m. on Friday and 2:05 p.m. on Saturday.
