Women's Ice Hockey Skates to 2-2 Tie with St. Cloud

ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie with St. Cloud during non-conference action on Saturday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
 
Sarah Nelles and Megan Korzack scored while Rachel Marmen had two assists. Maggie Knott and K.K. Thiessen had one assist each for Mercyhurst (11-5-2).
 
Hallie Theodosopoulos and Taylor Lind scored for St. Cloud (4-13-2).
 
After a scoreless first period, Theodosopoulos scored to get the Huskies on the board first.
 
Nelles tied the game at 1-1 when she scored early on in the third period on the power play. Marmen and Thiessen had assists.
 
Two minutes later, Lind scored on the power play to give St. Cloud its lead back.
 
Korzack scored the Lakers second power play goal of the day to tie the game back up at 2-2. Marmen and Knott tallied assists.
 
Kennedy Blair made 18 saves in net for Mercyhurst while Emma Polusny made 37 saves for St. Cloud.
 
The Lakers went 2-for-4 on the power play while the Huskies were 1-for-4.
 
Mercyhurst is back in action after the holiday break when it heads to No. 4 Cornell on Jan. 4-5. Puck drops at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
