Women's Soccer Ends Regular Season with 4-1 Win over Cal (Pa)

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – Amber Thomas scored twice as the Mercyhurst women's soccer team rallied for a 4-1 win over Cal. Pa. during Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Saturday.
 
Alyssa Otto and Cristy Senskey also scored one goal each for Mercyhurst (11-5-2, 10-5-1).
 
Cal. Pa., got on the board first only 41 seconds into the game. Juliana Cruz scored the lone goal for the Vulcans.
 
Mercyhurst than rallied with four unanswered goals to end the regular season on a five-game win streak.
 
During the 27th minute, Thomas passed the ball to Otto who put it over the head of Vulcan goalkeeper Reilly McGlumphy to tie the game at 1-1.
 
Thomas than netted her first of the season as she hit the top left corner from 20 yards out to give Mercyhurst the 2-1 lead.
 
During the second half, Senskey scored an insurance goal for the Lakers as Emilie bock assisted her.
 
Seven minutes later, Thomas scored her second of the game to extend the Lakers lead to 4-1. Otto chipped it up to Thomas who scored in the bottom left corner of the net for the Laker win.
 
Vilde Wold made three saves for the Lakers. McGlumphy had one save while Kayla Morran made eight saves for the Vulcans.
 
Mercyhurst held a 13-4 shots on goal advantage and 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
 
The Lakers will head to Edinboro for the first round of the PSAC Tournament on Nov. 12, at 1:00 p.m.
