ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's soccer team fall 3-2 in overtime to No. 5 Gannon on Wednesday on Saxon Stadium.
Gannon got on the board first during the last minute of play in the first half with a goal from Alex Lee Yaw.
Thirteen seconds later,
Mario Castel tied the game up with a strike to the back of the net.
During the second half,
Henri Tophoven put the Lakers in the lead in the 53rd minute of action.
Vincenzo Esposito headed the ball towards Tophoven who found the back of the net.
With one-minute remaining in the second half, Sergio Castillo scored for Gannon to make it 2-2.
Chad Barrick scored in overtime to give Gannon the 3-2 win.
Martin Jarc made four saves in net for the Lakers while Chandler Hallwood made two saves for the Golden Knights.
Gannon lead in shots on goal 8-4 and held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Lakers are back in action on Nov. 9 when they travel to. Cal. Pa., for a 3:30 p.m. game time.
