Men’s Hockey Drops Decision at Bentley

WILTHAM, Mass. -- The Mercyhurst men's hockey team fell to host Bentley 6-3 on Saturday night at Bentley Arena to split the weekend Atlantic Hockey series with Falcons. 

Bentley got out of the gates fast getting on the board at the 5:40 mark with a goal from Luke Santerno. Will Garin and Jakov Novak scored power play goals 1:05 a part to extend the lead to 3-0 at the first intermission. 

Ryan Gorowsky pushed the lead to 4-0 with a goal 5:42 into the second. James Anderson got the Lakers on the board at 15:24 of the second when he netted a power play tally assisted by Steven Ipri

Ipri picked up his second of the game unassisted when pestered Matt Lombardozzi into putting the puck in his own net while the goalie was out for the delayed penalty to trim the lead to 4-2. 

The Falcons added a pair of goals late in the third both with the two-man advantage to push the advantage to 6-2.  

Josh McDougall picked up his second goal of the season at the 19:26 mark of the third setting the final.  

Ipri picked up a pair of points for the second straight night. 

Stefano Cantali took the loss in net making 11 saves. Colin DeAugustine made 18 stops in relief.
