MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst football team will close out their season with a road trip to Millersville for a 12:06 kickoff with the Mauraders Saturday afternoon.

Historic Season for Garrett Owens: The redshirt junior running back has posted a strong season both in the rushing attack and receiving attack. Owens broke the record for longest play from scrimmage, rush or pass, last Saturday with a 98-yard jaunt against Clarion. He recorded his third game of three touchdowns or more against the Golden Eagles. He surpassed the 100-yard mark for the fouth time. Harrison Name Academic All-District: Senior offensive lineman
Payne Harrison was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team on Thursday afternoon. To qualify a student-athlete must have a 3.3 GPA and be a significant on-field contributor. Harrison now advances to the All-American ballot with the Academic All-American team to be announced on Dec. 10.
Second That: The Lakers have dominated the second quarter of games scoring 99 points in the second stanza. The Laker defense has held opponents to just 33 points to give the Lakers a +66 point differential in the second quarter.
Spreading the Ball: 14 different Lakers have caught at least one pass on the season. Eight of those players have recorded double-digit catches.
Clay Waldron leads the receiving corps with 468 yards an aveage of 19.5 yards per game.
Playing Behind the Line: The Mercyhurst front seven has consistently played behind the offensive line of scrimmage. Ayron Thompson has recorded 11.0 tackels for loss leading a Laker defense that has 64 stops behind the line for the season after nothcing nine TFL against Clarion.
Bradley Burrows and
Corbin Kessler also have double-digit TFL.
Scouting the Mauraders: Millersville offense runs through Collin Shank who is 98-for-159 with 1313 yards. Evan Morrill has been the leading receiver with 39 catches for 527 yards and three touchdowns. Byan Malone is the Mauraders leading rusher with 193 yards and two scores. Isaiah Onuschak leads the defense with 103 total tackles.
