Women's Ice Hockey Wins 3-0 over Lindenwood

ERIE, Pa. – Emma Nuutinen scored twice while Kennedy Blair made 13 saves in her third shutout of the season as the Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team defeated Lindenwood 3-0 during College Hockey America action on Friday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
 
Sam Isbell also scored one goal and tallied an assist while Megan Korzack, Alexane Rheaume and Nuutinen had one assist each for Mercyhurst (6-2-1, 3-0-0 CHA).
 
Nuutinen started off the scoring for the Lakers at 12:39 of the first period. Rheaume slid the puck over to Isbell who passed it up to Nuutinen. She then worked it around the defenseman and found the back of the net.
 
After a scoreless second period, Nuutinen scored her second of the game to make it 2-0 Lakers. She picked up the lose puck, skated it towards the net and went top shelf.
 
Isbell finished off the scoring for the Lakers on the power play at 18:22 of the third period. Nuutinen passed the puck up to Korzack who slid it across the front of the net, to a wide-open Isbell for a 3-0 win.
 
Annika Asplundh made 38 saves in net for Lindenwood (2-5-2, 0-1-0 CHA).
 
Mercyhurst was 1-for-5 on the power play while Lindenwood went 0-for-4.
 
Both teams are back in action on Saturday at 3:05 p.m.
