ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's soccer team shutout Seton Hill 2-0 during Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Wednesday at Saxon Stadium.
Mario Castel and
Fabio Schortmann scored while
Connor Wilkinson tallied an assist for Mercyhurst (3-2-1, 1-0-0).
Martin Jarc was perfect in net with four saves for the Lakers.
Castel got the Lakers on the board in the 39th minute when he got his own rebound and found the back of the net.
In the 84th minute Schortmann scored his first goal as a Laker to give Mercyhurst a 2-0 lead and eventual win. Wilkinson chipped it over to Schortmann, who one timed it past Seton Hill goalkeeper Austin Iddon.
Iddon made two saves in net for Seton Hill (4-4-0, 0-1-0).
Both teams had four shots on goal while Mercyhurst hekd a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.
The Lakers are back in action on Oct. 5 when they travel to Pitt Johnstown at 12:00 p.m.
