CLARION, Pa. – Taryn Baxter scored while Vilde Wold was perfect in net during the Mercyhurst women's soccer teams 1-0 win over Clarion on Wednesday during Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action.
 
In the 66th minute, Baxter got the Lakers on the board and gave then the eventual win. Anna Schult shot the ball and Baxter charged the rebound and found the back of the net.
 
Wold made one save to earn her sixth shutout of the season and third straight.
 
In net for Clarion, Brigid Stermel made six saves.
 
Mercyhurst (5-2-1, 4-2-0 ) held a 7-1 shots on goal advantage while Clarion (1-6-0, 0-6-0) had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
 
The Lakers are back in action on Oct. 5 when they travel to IUP at 1:30 p.m.
