ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team took down RIT 4-2 during College Hockey America action on Friday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.

Emma Nuutinen and
Summer-Rae Dobson scored one goal and one assist each while
Megan Korzack and
Alexandria Weiss had the other two Laker goals.
Alexa Vasko had three assists,
Emily Pinto had two assists and
Sam Isbell tallied one assist for Mercyhurst (4-1-0, 1-0-0).

Hunter Barnett and Jade Mancini had the RIT (0-4-1, 0-1-0) goals.

RIT started off the scoring when Hunter scored halfway through the first period.
Â
On the power play, Nuutinen rebounded her own shot to found the back of the net and tie the game at 1-1. Vasko and Isbell had assists.

During the second period, Weiss sent a rocket threw the defensemen and past RIT goaltender Terra Lanteigne to make it 2-1. Nuutinen and Vasko had helpers.

Halfway through the second period, Korzack one-timed a pass from Dobson to extend the Lakers lead to 3-1. Pinto had the other assist.

Early in the third period, RIT came back with a goal from Mancini to bring the Tigers within one.

Dobson stealed the deal with the empty net goal at 19:20 to give Mercyhurst a 4-2 win.

Kennedy Blair made 21 saves in net for Mercyhurst while Lanteigne made 42 saves.

The Lakers went 1-for-8 on the power play while the Tigers were 0-for-5.

Both teams are back in action Saturday at 3:05 p.m.
